Co-organized by TIMEWOW, World Football Legends (WFL), and ACO Media, with technical support from the Football Association of Hong Kong, China, the "LEGENDS ASSEMBLE - Real Madrid Legends vs. Barcelona Heroes" exhibition match will take place on December 20 (Friday) this year at Hong Kong Stadium. Several internationally renowned legendary players who previously played for La Liga clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona will gather in Hong Kong to showcase their skills in front of 40,000 football enthusiasts.

Today (October 17), Barcelona hero Luis Garcia and Real Madrid icon Fernando Morientes have arrived in Hong Kong to attend a press conference hosted in the Hong Kong Golf and Tennis Academy (HKGTA), the Venue Partner dedicated to the long-term development of sports in Hong Kong, particularly golf and tennis.

Representative from one of the organizers, WFL, Mr. John Ian Holahan stated: “We are thrilled to bring the 'LEGENDS ASSEMBLE Exhibition Match Series' to Hong Kong. The inaugural match is a classic La Liga showdown—Real Madrid Legends vs. Barcelona Heroes, which is sure to become a focal point for the entire city. It has been over 21 years since Real Madrid stars last visited Hong Kong in 2003, and the football excitement is certain to be reignited with the return of these two teams. As one of the most significant international events before the reconstruction of Hong Kong Stadium, it is an unmissable occasion for local fans. This once-in-a-lifetime classic confrontation has also received support and an invitation from the Hong Kong Tourism Board and is in the process of applying to be listed as one of the key events of the year. We hope the allure of the match will not only stimulate local economic activities but also attract fans from nearby regions and countries, making it an essential program for holiday travelers during the Christmas season”. The organizers also stated that Hong Kong is the first stop for this series of matches, and it features the strongest and most luxurious lineup.

Luis Garcia and Fernando Morientes, representing the legendary teams of Barcelona and Real Madrid, are no strangers to Hong Kong. Both expressed a sense of familiarity and joy at seeing many familiar faces upon their return. Luis Garcia stated, “I am excited to participate in this exhibition match. The passion of Hong Kong fans for football is on par with that of other countries, and I enjoy the opportunity to compete in front of them. Although it’s an exhibition match, I will still give my all to deliver an exciting performance for the fans.” Fernando Morientes, representing the Real Madrid legends, noted that matches between the two La Liga clubs have always captivated fans. Despite participating as retired players now, he still feels the competitive spirit from his playing days. He remarked, “I will coordinate with my former Real Madrid teammates to prepare thoroughly for this match. I am also grateful to the organizers for hosting this exhibition match, allowing me to revisit Hong Kong with my former teammates and enjoy the cheers and support from the fans.”

The football legends also shared valuable ball control techniques with Ivy and presented her with signed jersey as a gesture of appreciation. Expressing her

gratitude for the expert guidance, Ivy expressed that she learned a great deal and confirmed that she would attend the exhibition match to show her support and admire the performances of the iconic players.

The organizers believe that the star-studded lineup for the inaugural match of the 'LEGENDS ASSEMBLE Exhibition Match Series'—Real Madrid Legends vs. Barcelona Heroes—will excite local fans and generate eager anticipation. The organizers also emphasized that this exhibition match has received official authorization from the “Real Madrid Leyendas”, marking the first time in Asia that a similar event has received official recognition from the club. To ensure fans can witness their favorite stars in action, agreements have been signed with key players, with additional clause confirming their attendance at the event and active participation on the field as well.

As one of the important matches before the reconstruction of Hong Kong Stadium, this event holds special significance. Therefore, the organizers will produce physical tickets for this exhibition match, providing fans who purchase tickets an unforgettable memento. In light of recent incidents involving counterfeit tickets at various major events, the organizers want to assure attendees that all physical tickets for this sale will feature specially designed anti-counterfeiting stickers. Each ticket will also include a QR code that allows authorized personnel to verify purchase information, ensuring authenticity. These measures are intended to protect consumers from fraud and encourage fans to buy tickets through official channels, allowing them to support their favorite stars with confidence. In addition to physical tickets, a limited edition of event souvenir will also be available for fans to purchase as keepsakes.

In December, in addition to the match, the two legendary teams will participate in various activities, allowing fans to interact closely with their favorite stars.
